Healthier diets often lead to less time spent at the vet and longer, happier lives. With our extensive product knowledge, we empower our clients to take their pets’ health and wellness into their own hands. We are with them every step of the way, but we provide tools and suggestions to assist in making the best decisions possible. We hope to inspire everyone to take a deeper look into what they’re putting into their best friend’s body and to consider other options that could help their furry friend lead a happier, healthier, longer life.
Barkstown Road owner Kim has always been passionate about animals, dogs especially. She had always had dogs growing up but adopted her very own from the Scott County Animal Shelter during her senior year of college. Otto was an adult dog labeled as a pit bull mix who was heartworm positive and told Kim through his desperate, gorgeous eyes that he needed her as much as she needed him. And so began her undying obsession with her dogs and cats and their well-being.
At Barkstown Road, we pride ourselves on helping you make your dog or cat’s life even better through an improved diet. Our favorite thing is to partner with our customers to tailor a diet regimen to their companion’s specific needs, whether it’s weight loss, a specific health issue, or just preventative. Stop in to see us at one of our two locations in The Highlands and Frankfort Ave. / Clifton, or drop us a line on our Contact page – we can’t wait to get started!
